I don't think so. She did use her power as queen to persecute and execute non-Catholics, but that was common for monarchs of the time. Henry and Elizabeth both executed Catholics, and so Mary was not any more bloody than any other mnarch.

Not really but what they did to her does! It is doubtful that Mary had much to do with the religious intrigues in England but the death of Sir Dudley in the quadrangle is very suspicious!

She only massacred thousands of innocent people, based solely on their religion...to me, that very bloody action deserves to make her known in infamy as "bloody Mary".
