actually the salsa was actually created and developed much by the Latins and the Afro-Caribbeans. The salsa is very much similar to the mambo only salsa dancing has more of a side to side way of dancing where as the mambo is more of a back and forth way. :) So unfotunetly the salsa did not come from mexico:(

No, I think it came from either Cuba or Puerto Rico, but I'm sure it's not from Mexico.
