I have to write a response paper to the book "Heart of Darkness" or I can do it to the movie "Apocolypse Now". I can't decide what I should do it over. It can be anything we have complete freedom which makes it harder to write this paper. Any suggestions? I've thought about writing about how stupid all these people were to follow Kurtz with such bllind faith. What do you think?

I would go deeper by how stupid the people were. Write something like how extreme conditions cause extreme irrational behavior or was Kurtz always insane or did the circumstances bring it out of him? How did being in Vietnam (or Africa for Hearts of Darkness) turn him into a megalomaniac?

When I had to write a paper on that, I actually wrote my paper on "the heart of darkness." If you really think about it, the place where everything took occurred was considered the heart of darkness in africa. I went into detail about that. Then I also went on about how Kurtz also had a heart of darkness. He was crazy but he also was dark hearted in the fact that he cared for almost nothing but himself and even in the end that didn't matter all too much. Well good luck with finding a topic and writing your paper!
