I had a dream where I kicked and woke up immediately upon impact as my foot hit my bedside table. It hurt. I felt bad the next night when I did it again and kicked my husband. :)

Yes, all my dreams are very vivid, where I can smell, hear, feel, and taste. Very long and detailed, and sometimes I'm dioriented waking up because I still think the dream is real.

Thats probably because you have a dream which excites your nerves and senses that they feel real. It is more common in nightmares than true dreams though. Well at least for sometimes when you dream like falling from a building your heartbeat becomes faster and feels as if it is real.

I think what is happening to you is called a hypnogogic hallucination. These are different from dreams in that they occur in Stage 1 sleep, right after you doze off. People who claim to have been abducted by aliens and report having felt them touching them etc., are usually experiencing a hypnagogic hallucination.
