Oh for God's sake if one more person says "your freedom in 1945"
Listen the Americans sold military hardware to the Germans as well as the Allies during the first couple of years of WW2 so just feck off with that nonsense. You only dived in at the end because you can maintain higher prices after the war when there is more than one customer to deal with in Europe to sell your goods to

Back to the question though

the Hoff. . . . . . . .(nuff said)

Since you mention KFC and Big Macs, I assume you mean what has America contributed towards popular culture, or something along those lines, and not anything the government has contributed.

I know some Irish and some Germans who are here in San Diego for a semester at my university.

They love American rock bands and rap artists, so I could make an argument that America has contributed to Europe with music. They've gone to a Panic! At the Disco concert, an E-40 concert and a Snoop Dogg concert. They told me they listened to that music back home.

Many of the movies I mentioned they saw while still in Europe. From what I hear they're popular there. Actually when I asked my German friend Anna if she'd seen Pulp Fiction, she said, "We do watch movies in Germany, you know. We're not isolated from the world."

These were people from two countries. Europe is pretty big, so I'm sure there are other examples.

Yeah, Courtney B spits out a lot of crap.

Their "eventual" participation, of combat troops in WW2. The supply of planes, tanks, food , etc etc, which kept us from being conquered by the nazis, which would have happened if they had not entered the war, prompted by Pearl Harbour. THANK YOU AMERICA. Their scientists have discovered new drugs to cure diseases. The American movie industry has provided entertainment for the world over the last century. They are a wonderful resourceful, inventive, and energetic nation, (perhaps a little wierd), but good friends nevertheless.

They gave us a lot of help both financially and with the sacrifice of their lives during the war, say what you like about them coming into it late, but the fact of the matter is that without the US we would of been fncked up, they gave us weapons, tanks etc, do a bit of research on the liberty ships, the convoys that kept us supplied, they have been our closet allies for 60 years. The Americans are not perfect, but they have been good friends to us Brits. Please don't confuse the antics of a bunch of stupid politicians with the entire population of the USA, most Americans are decent, hardworking, fun loving people, who if push came to shove would most likely die fighting to help us out again. The fact that you can ask a question like this just tells me that you are just trying to piss people off, grow up...

We came over to Germany and saved your asses....so be thankful. Americans are accused of "butting" into business that does not concern us....well, I am GLAD that we butt into your business....or else the world would be ruled by heartless terrorist and dictators, like Hitler. Do you have brown eyes? Or do you have dark brown hair, or maybe a skin tone other than fair? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you could be DEAD if it were up to Hitler.....what about your friends or family? What kind of music do you listen to? What movies do you watch?

**I am SHOCKED by the comment..."Aside from the whole World War II thing' What the HELL? Is that not a big deal to you? A world war?

Well yes they helped at the end of the 2nd world war but apart from that.......I mean useful things I'm scratching my head...the recent war on Iraq seems to have negated anything positive they might have done before but we should also blame our stupid PM for dragging us into that pointless war as well - WHICH IS ALL ABOUT OIL!!

Now come on kids - stop the prattle. It's not what America gave us, it's what we sent with them when they left Europe for the New World - the real question is - Was that good or bad?
