been in the country a couple of months. Well today there was busted pipe type smell throughout the hallway. My boss says it was the new guy from Cameroon. Obviously it wasn't , there was actually a malfunction of the pipes. Then he goes on to say that the guy smells like pooh and he actually had the guys boss go in and tell him that he smells and needs to fix that. My questions is, isn't it normal for newcomer immigrants to smell like the food they cook, or just to have differnet cultural norms. I felt like the comment was really mean, and probably was offensive to the new guy. Any opinions?

It's obvious that your boss is not professional and fair.
I would be careful while responding to comments that he makes.
You don't want to be associated with any racism or discrimination in workplace. It could cost you your job or even more.
I understand that it could be difficult to confront your manager. So I would ignore his comments or simply pretend you didn't hear it.

Your boss sounds like a racist ****** coward. He obviously likes to start trouble. If he was so concerned about his smell why didn't he go talk to him about it himself? He also should not have talked about it to others until he had the opportunity to confront this guy about it. He is so weak...

that is very racist. even if true, someone should tell the h.r. dept. if you have one to cause him lots of problems. you see, your boss has no honor. without honor, you are nothing.
