i had read something about how masturbation is good for your body (a lot better than having sex and risking STD's), but how come so many feel so guilty after doing it if it's not as bad as most people think???

It would depend on how the person was raised and what beliefs their parents had. Some parents will chastise young children when they first begin to explore themselves. In turn, it forms a "guilt" complex in the child later-on in young adulthood.
Masturbating is a natural, healthy and normal thing to do. It helps promote an awareness of ones self and aids in better communication within relationships. With the higher risks of STD's in today's society, masturbating helps curb the desire to find a sex-partner as well.
Go with your gut feeling. Masturbating is very ok to do...and fun.

Masturbation in north american society is frowned upon as much as anything sexual is by a number of people who seem to be a vocal minority. They use religion, manliness and all sorts of reasons to try to make boys believe that playing with their penises is evil and going to lead them to hell or worse. In fact the primary reason for circumcision was to stop boys from masturbating.
So with all that negative (yet untrue) propaganda floating about, it is no wonder boys feel guilty after thy get a little self-gratification. But the reality is masturbationo is
a) safe sex - darned hard to get and STI from yourself.
b) fun - you bet!
c) healthy - yep - keeps th ejuices flowing and reduces the risk of prostate cancer.
d) normal - of course it is; alkl guys do it anywhere from 2 or 3 times a week to 2 or 3 times a day.
and
e) not even given a mention in the new testament or the 10 commandments thus is far from being a sin.
So, forget the guilt trip, pull out your penis and masturbate to your hearts content knowing that the rest of your friends are doing it and enjoying it too.

Masturbation is natural and you shouldn't feel guilty about it. It's a great way to relax and relieve stress.
Some people just have the old belief system that it's immoral.

Because old people and religion have conditioned then to think that way. All of their lives they have been told that it was a bad thing to do. In reality it's completely normal and nothing to be ashamed of.

i dont know because society makes us think that sex is bad and sex with anyone other than our husband or wife is really bad and for those of us who play with ourselves well shame on us but actually its the other way around i like masturbating its fun sometimes my husband watches gets turned on and the we do it again but together this time or sometimes i watch him be comfortable with yourself and forget agout what tohers say
