my daughter needs this for extra credit in her math class. I was never a math person my self so i have no clue. Calling all Smartie pants--please help me

draw a foreword slash through the = sign
This changes the sign to mean "not equal". It is certainly true that 5+5+5 is not equal to 550.

Hope she gets the extra credit.

I think if you add a small line to the first + sign you can change it into a 4, transforming the equation into 545+5=550 which is a true statement.

I dont really understand the qustion or where or what the line can be, but my guess would be x. Then x can equal anything and it can make itself work so that x=36.6666. The first answer sounds really good, if that is ok.
