Depending on where you live in Atlanta. You can moved to an area that is mostly African Americans. There are other areas, that are over populated with other nationalities.
Atlanta is a wonderful city with lots of opportunities. It is almost like if Atlanta, don't have it. You probably won't find it anywhere else.
It is funny, people could live 10, 20, 30, 45, to 60 minutes away from Downtown Atlanta. And still say they live in Atlanta. Regardless of the postal address. I have lived in the Metro Atlanta area for 21 years.

Atlanta replaced right into a hotbed for segregation contained in the 50s and 60s and that spilled over into the 70s for most. right now, Atlanta has come an magnificent distance. there is this style of wonderful variety of human beings that stay contained in the city that it is not the variety of position a racist would want to stay. Atlanta is seen between the perfect places in the global for an African American Entrepreneur because of the various and deep variety of economic agency established there. My journey says that you'll discover some racist human beings the position ever you bypass, yet some places better than others. There are not any extra racists in Atlanta than you would discover in Boston or different cities. There are although many aspects that are predominantly white or black and a lot less aspects that do not look be one or the different.

The racism in Atlanta runs both ways. If you're planning on coming down and getting deeply involved in the black community, watch what you say, cause you will be watched to see if you're racist. Don't take on any unnatural (for you) black mannerism or be bucking on some brotha or sistha who claim they your friends (they'll turn on ya) and most importantly, just be yourself. If you coming to ATL to be with white people, you probably want have that much interaction with blacks. Atlanta is still very segregated in a lot of ways. Some areas are almost all black while others are almost all white. You can find some blended areas, but you have to look. But whatever you do, be careful, Atlanta is much more dangerous and violent than it is racist. Lot's of scam artist, hustlers, and mean people here, so use common sense and good discretion.
Good Luck!

I,have worked in Atlanta for 7 years and I am white you will see some people that are racist just like any where but some of the blacks there are better than some white people I know and would come more likely helping you do something than your white friend,s. You just have to pick your friend,s just like anywhere and stay away from bad places , As the old saying goes If you fool with **** you,ll get it on you!

I have lived in the Atlanta area all of my life (41 years). Just like any other major city there are racists here. They come in all colors and you just need to recognize and avoid them. Don't let close-minded people determine how YOU live your life. Good Luck.

yep there is alot of racist in atlanta. Going to many different races, depending on your location (mainly county) you have different amounts. Its not that bad though people get along fine.
Infamous Dirty South lol.
"Atlanta" is constantly changing too so in 2 years what you are given now as a good area could be completely different.

I lived in the area for over 20 years and I think is great, lots of job opportunities, and diversion.
Crime is below average in the nation. Though I had a lady friend who said there was too much drugs everywhere in the metro area, I said, If you are looking for it, you'll find it, no matter where you live. (I don't need drugs to have fun and I'm completely against them, and I hope you are too). You'll love it here. Welcome to Atlanta!.
