It should not matter what other people think, if you are not married then you should wait to have sex. Regardless what your friends are doing, regardless of what you see on TV. The reality of it is that there are too many uncurable diseases (Hepatitis C, Herpes, HIV, & HPV which causes ovarian cancer) to have sex indiscriminately. Even if you think that you are "in love", boydriends/girlfriends come and go, but your husband/wife is a committed partner. So it's best to wait and value your health. Imagine having to explain to someone whom you really like, "Look, I have to tell you something, I have herpes, I hope that you still like me though". - Janet

Chef from South Park says you're ready at 17. Everyone is. I say as long as you understand the consequences: STDs/ pregnancy/ abortion, and are willing to accept them and take responsibility to take birth control pills, use condoms, pick healthy partners, then you are ready at that age.
To the lady below me, why should I wait to eat chocolate bars? The earlier I start, the more pleasure I'll have in my life. And sex doesn't make you fat like Hersey's.
Sex is like a band-aid, the faster and sooner you rip it off, the less you will suffer later by going too slow.

After you get married. There are to many complications that go along with being sexually active and not being married along with all the STDs that you can contract. If I could go back and change my choices when it comes to sex I would...
I also believe that people tend to confuse sexual pleasures with love and end up marrying for the wrong reasons. There is so much more to a marriage than having good sex...I wish more people knew that
Have a Great day

There is no good age. There is probably a national average, but you will know when the time is right for you. I probably waited longer than some of my peers, but I am glad in knowing that I was ready and wasn't forced into it. There is nothing set in stone saying there is a certain age. That is a bunch of crap.

Honestly, just a thought, once you lose it, you can never get it back. Its like eating your first chocolate candy bar, you just want more. So suggestion is.... wait as long as you can!
