My son has lived in Gainesville for 2 years. Not been any hurricanes there so far since he has been there, not one from last year touched them.
He says its always humid or raining tho'.
It is a huge "college" town with the University of Florida as the big school, so I think a job above that age level and skill would be easier to get than a min. wage job.

Tank I have lived in Florida for over 29 yrs and in general if you want to work you can although it all depends on what you do for a living and your professional or trade preparation. As for Gainesville it is a College town UF. I am licensed insurance agent and claims adjuster and live in Lakeland which is Central Florida halfway between Tampa and Orlando, this particular area is very affordable and a good quality of life with two major metro areas within 1/2 hr drive. Good luck. By the way no state income tax, but plenty of hurricanes.....LOL

I stay in jacksonville too (comparable section as justin) and for my section this city isn't an exceedingly stable activity marketplace till you're contained in the healthcare container or in line with threat merchandising/revenues. i do no longer recognize approximately business corporation. and since the economic equipment is terrible many all of us is having problem searching for jobs. i might say have something coated up till now you progression... and hire - in case you prefer to stay someplace good, in a reliable community then for a a million-mattress that's contained in the better six hundred's and up - looking on how super the room is and what portion of city. I even have seen some for $545. hire has long previous down slightly yet bit with the aid of fact with the aid of fact the economic equipment took all of us's jobs, human beings have been forced to pass out and get room acquaintances, so as that they have got been dropping hire slightly to make peopel wan tto pass in. additionally water/trash expenditures are actually not secure with hire and gets added onto your invoice, then electrical energy which greater their fees like thrice contained in the previous year... for my section you will possibly desire to be making a minimum of a $1000 paycheck in case you prefer to do great down right here with the aid of fact with a $5-six hundred verify you would be extraordinarily plenty living verify to envision. nutrition is expensive on the grocery shops, you will discover bargains yet once you do the maths it incredibly isnt a brilliant "deal". And orlando you will prefer a sunpass to pay on your tolls, and there is plenty to try this if u prefer to have exciting you're goingto prefer spending money for that.

Now WHY would ANYONE want to come to Florida? Obviously you like reptiles, bugs, storms, intense heat, high humidity and low salary.

Lots of good orange juice tho!
