Why do people depict Jesus as being a white man when it clearly states in the bible that he has brown skin?

To be truly "Christ-like", the amount of melanin in one's skin would never be of any concern. Ignore those among us who ARE concerned about it. If it makes white people more comfortable to perceive Jesus as having low amounts of melanin, why not let them? Same for people with larger amounts of melanin in their skin. I just cannot see a prophet caring about melanin. Now, wavy blond hair, THAT'S a more important matter. : ) You have noticed, surely, that EVERYONE depicts Jesus as having wavy hair.

I would also like to know WHERE in the bible it "clearly states, he has brown skin"!

I don't think he is "white-skinned'! He is Jewish, I believe God, Jesus should be & should look exactly how he reveals himself to YOU! Worry less about how others see Jesus, your relationship with Jesus is just that, yours!

Why do some "christians" go about preaching bigotry, hatred and discrimination when their teachings tell them to do exactly the opposite? Yes, I am pointing directly at YOU.

It is because the "majority" get to say what "normal" is, even when they are dead wrong.

WHO cares in the long range scheme of things? I would laugh like hell if there is a second coming and we hear a huge roll of thunder and the sky turns black and purple. The noise is unbearable to the ears. We all know who is behind all of it........All of a sudden it becomes very, very quiet. Out of no where comes a human figure. We don't know how, but we KNOW it is the Lord everyone has waited for and FINALLY HE IS HERE !!! We all come out from hiding and guess what?? He looks exactly like:

LOUIS ARMSTRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would use this story to tell my grandson at night but he is only six. He has no idea who Louis Armstrong is. But I can tell him about Martin Luther King.

Because white folks don't want to worship no brown skinned Jesus, and since he was a totally mythological made up guy anyway, just picture him however you want to, what's the difference?

Well, there's plenty of art out there that shows what color he should have been. But you're right, we should strive to be more accurate.
