No, and I wouldn't reccommend you did, either. If you are planning to shell out the money for a next-gen console, go for the Wii. It's the best bet considering graphics, controls, games... Pretty much the best bet all around. I am getting a Wii, not a PS3.

I might be getting a PS3, but not for at least a year. It may have great graphics and games, but no gaming system is worth $450 or fighting the crowds to get one.

If you are lucky enough to get one before christmas, get the more expensive package $599, and the game Resistance: Fall Of Man. If he enjoys sports, get him a gme of his favorite sport. If it happens to be basketball, be sure to get "NBA 2k7" instead of "NBA 07" (preferred by gamers).
You might want to buy a "Blu-Ray" movie, because the ps3 has a bluray player in it (allthough a standalone blu ray player is $999). This will have a great picture on your HDTV.

There should be 14 titles ready by launch on Friday. I know for sure these 3 titles are complete as I actually work for PlayStation.
