BTW, I'm living in a small town thirty miles from the closest big town, and the video store in town here is crap. That's why I haven't seen it. Trust me, if I could, I'd be watching it instead of asking you guys about it!!!!

Oh my...
I don't know how full this is. There are 2 youth gangs in the late 1950s in New York, the Sharks and The Jets. One lot are white the others are Puerto Rican.
Tony and Maria fall in love, one is a Jet, the other is a Shark. The gangs find out, there is big trouble, one of them ends up dead (sorry, can't remember which one).
Leonard Bernstein wrote the musical, revolutionary for its time, it was the template for all musicals in the 60s and after. Lots of dancing, lots of action.
Basically it is a remake of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' but set in the 1950s.
