It is not silence you hear, it is some of your overstimulated hearing cells finally calming down.
Remember if you go to a rock concert or listen to loud music you will afterwards experience ringing in your ears which eventually will go away. Same thing, only you haven't been listening to something that loud, so the ringing in our ears isn't as loud, you only hear it if it is really quiet. I think it is called a threshold shift in your ears.
It's all in your head.

You not in any respect fairly listen organic silence. What occurs is youre listening to sounds to diffused and jumbled at the same time that you'll also cause them to out. you commence listening to your own coronary heart beat and lungs pump and on some events you may listen the pulses of neurons on your mind (that is wierd). a relaxed wintry climate day causes a range of silent feeling yet youre fairly only having area of your listening to ignore with regard to the further sounds of snow.

Sounds like you are hearing harmonics... and what causes them is vibration at a certain pitch. But isn't silence the absense of sound? Maybe we never truely hear silence because there is constant sound... even that of our respiration and movement.
However, yes, with no logical basis, I believe you can hear silence. And I think it sounds like harmonics... a kind of great cosmic omh...

What you hear is the blood passing through the veins and arteries in your head. When you hold a sea shell to your ear the sound is amplified. LOUD isn't it? If you hear a high pitched sound you might be suffering from tinnitus which is a form of hearing loss mainly caused by prolonged exposure to loud noises.
