In Last Of The Mohicans, Russell Means character Chingachgook:

Great Spirit, Maker of All Life. A warrior goes to you swift and straight as an arrow shot into the sun. Welcome him and let him take his place at the council fire of my people. He is Uncas, my son. Tell them to be patient and ask death for speed; for they are all there but one - I, Chingachgook - Last of the Mohicans.

Wow; that's an interesting question.

Any number of possibilities spring to mind, but I think I'd have to opt for one of the two or three long monologues spoken by Richard Burton as Dr. Dysart in the film version of "Equus." Sidney Lumet directs the speeches very simply, starting the camera at a distance from the actor, and then slowing dollying in until Burton's face fills the screen. His wonderful voice has never been used to better effect; the speeches are absolutely mesmerizing.

The speech that Jimmy Stewart gives to Congress in "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" is really moving. And on the flipside, the "greed" speech by Michael Douglas in "Wall Street" is really good too.

I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

The speech the girl gives the uptight diplomats at the G8 summit in "Girl in the Cafe" is pretty good, lasting impact.

I like this one from 'Scarface':

Tony Montana (Al Pacino): What you lookin' at? You all a bunch of ******' assholes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be. You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your ******' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way!
