i would consider yourself lucky. in AZ, driving 25 or more over the speed limit (you were 32 over) is considered criminal speed and is an arrestable violation. the officer was nice enough not to take you to jail. traffic school is more than likely not an option for you b/c the officer would have given you information on where to take it before your court date. if the judge does allow you to take it-the class costs about 150.00 and is 4 hours long

expect a heafty fine-this type of speed is not something a judge is likely to write off especially since you were in a school zone (tons of students on foot).

your insurance will likely take a jump too.

take it as a very expensive learning lesson. the police in az don't like speeders, especially in school zones.

If the officer was lenient and issued you a regular speeding ticket rather than a criminal ticket (for going more than 20 mph over the limit), and you have a clean record now (meaning you have not had a ticket in the last 2-years), you can attend traffic school instead of going to court. The hard ticket sent in the mail will indicate the schools you may attend and the deadline to do so, which will be about 3-days before your assigned court date. If you go to court, there will be a huge fine. If you go to traffic school it is like $130 and all the fines are waived. You can only go once every 2-years though. FYI - the area you are talking about is a known speed trap zone so I would suggest being very careful there from now on, it is not a periodic monitoring they are pretty much there all the time.

ASU is a tremendously stable college yet bear in techniques that it is extensive. it is definitely now the biggest college interior the rustic. Get used to feeling a sprint like a sort on your first couple of years in college. It used to have a acceptance as being only a celebration college yet it is changing (besides the certainty that there are extra suitable than adequate events to bypass around). Tempe is extremely plenty a school city and downtown does have plenty to furnish. the sunshine rail runs precise via campus and connects you with different areas of the city. you certainly won't discover many retirees in Tempe....they're quite often added out in cities like solar city and solar Lakes (previous human beings look to love cities with "solar" in them).

I would say expect a good sized fine. That is going to cost you in insurance as well if you do not fight it. I would protest it and see what happens. The points that will put on your insurance will be a killer, but I think that you can go to drivers school to get the points erased for a fee, but much cheaper than to accept the points.

to pay lots of money! also, Tempe police as well as the campus police could file other charges on you like exhibition of speed due to the fact that it was only for a short distance.Tempe police go out of their way to make examples out of everyone. good luck!

expect them to tell you to smarten up. who cares if your a student and part time worker? this is not relevant. more than double the speed limit (in Canada) is enough to loose your license.

Don't go to court, you won't win, just mail in the fine when you get the ticket in the mail and be done with it.
