Let me first say that I am an assistant on-site property manager at a 36 unit apartment complex. Please be careful. If pets are not allowed, you could find yourself in a lease violation that could get you evicted.
One point is this: no small dog is a quiet dog. They're insecure and need all the attention you are willing to give them. When you don't, they bark.
Second: If the apartment has never had pets in it, your pet will leave a noticeable odor no matter how hard you try to cover it up. Just one "accident" and you will have nosy neighbors turning you in to the manager or landlord instantly.
Third: If said pet does soil things, you will probably have to pay for a professional cleaning and/or risk losing any deposit you may have put up. Professional cleanings can cost anywhere from $100 to $500 in even a small rural community for the average size apartment.
I'd follow the rules or find other living arrangements that would allow you to have pets. Have you considered asking your manager or landlord about a caged pet like a hamster or fish? I'm not kidding. We don't allow dogs, but I once had a tenant with a pet python. Go figure. We had very few mice though. Just kidding. Hope this helps:-)

A dog is an animal. You already SAID you can't HAVE animals! Sneaking a dog in is only going to either A) get you evicted, or B) make you give the dog away later. Unless you plan to litterbox train the dog and NEVER let it see the light of DAY, SOMEONE will notice the dog no matter how quiet it is. Either find another apartment (and commit to finding pet friendly apartments for the next 10-15yrs), or get an acceptable (by the landlord) pet.

For one, a chihuahua woudn't make a good choice.
But, even more importantly, do you really want to risk getting kicked out of your apartment just because you want a dog? Don't forget, not only can you be evicted, if you get caught, you can get sued!
If you had an existing pet, and just couldn't bear to part with a member of the "family," I could understand being willing to take a chance. But you don't even have a dog, now, so why take a chance. You'd be better off moving now, into a place that will let you have a small dog.
Getting kicked out of a place is a very unpleasant situation, and can be extremely costly. Be the resposible party and don't disrespect your neighbors and property owners for no better reason than you just wanting a pet!

as much as i know it hurts, you're doing what's best for the animal if you don't get one. if this apartment complex finds out that you have a dog, then you'll have to get rid of it, which will be even more heartbreaking for you and the dog. i know how you feel b/c i live in a dorm that doesn't allow pets, and i would like nothing more than to have a doggy or kitty here with me!!!
maybe you should look for a different apartment that will let you pay extra to have a pet.

get one, dont worry, if its small and quiet they wont know, just stuff it in your purse when you go out (then you can be stylish too, lol) but anyways, it depends on your landlord, do they come check your apparment often? and if your neighburs are cool.
get him plenty of toys to keep him occupied, and keep the tv on when your not home, in case he makes noise.
when i used to live in an appartment like that i had a pitbull, they never knew.if i can keep a loud and roudy pit from being seen or heard throw cardboard walls, im sure you can manage having a lil one.
And if they ever see it, just say its a friends or something.
they cant go in the appartment unless you let them in, as long as your renting. And if your name is on the lease and you have lived there for over 3 months they cant just evict you, it would take awhile and they probably wont want to go through the trouble, they would just give you a warning. i wouldnt worry about all that though, alot of ppl do it.
good luck

Get a chihuahua. They are small and most of the time quiet. Get a short-haired chihuahua if you don't want it to shed. Also, you could try a toy poodle! They are soooo cute and quiet and they sleep with you at night (too cute!) They do not shed which is a load off ya shoulders. Good luck
P.S. If you don't wanna get kicked out of yo apartment, keep ya dog inside and don't try to let to many people know you have a dog

could get any type dog an have its vocal cords removed granted no vet would do it so you'd have to grab some scissors an do it yourself or just find another apartment even with a quiet dog it still has to use the bathroom so someone would see you walking it an probably report you so you'd get kicked out anyway with a loud dog or not

Why do you want to break the rules? You like being evicted and sued for damages the dog will cause? The fact you want to break the rules shows your not responsible enough to have a dog. Think of the constant barking your neighbors will have to endure.
Move to a place where you can have an animal or don't do it.

That is a hard one because most little dogs are yappy. Even if you have a quiet dog overall, they all bark. If you want a dog, you may need to consider moving if possible. Sorry :-(
