My friend is looking to change phone carriers and was wondering how much it would cost.

If you use the phone out of area at least 50% of the time, they will cancel it for free...just cell to cell someone when you're not on Cingular's tower.

Each contract is different depending on its length (1 year or 2), but to get out of a contract early is usually a $250 early cancellation fee. Sometimes if you complain enough, they'll allow you to cancel with no penalty or give you huge incentives to stay.

$175 early termination fee PER LINE.... if the phones are in contract still.
