I'm only a sophomore in high school, but I just want to have an idea of colleges to look at before I start planning life after high school. I want to major in theatre or musical theatre, if that helps.

You didn't say in which city you live. There could be a great school for theatre in your city. The acting teachers are the most important aspect in selecting a school for studying theatre.

Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY (my alma mater) is a great college for theater. Several of my former schoolmates now act in theater and on television, including Cary Elwes, Cynthia Cleese, Elisabeth Rohm, Yancy Butler, and many more. It's also very close to NYC and just a terrific school! Good luck with your dream.

What do you want to do after you get your degree. If you want to work on Broadway, go to an East Coast or New York school. If you want to work in film, go to a West Coast or California school. If you want to work in Chicago, go to a Midwest school. Get the idea? Your school should be able to help provide contacts after you graduate, so......location, location, location!

Texas Christian University. it's a private university, but you can get good scholorships for them. their theater department is awesome!!! It's in Ft. Worth, Texas, a great location, and they offer a wide varity of other majors and minors. Their communications department is also wonderful.
