The very first one is John Carpenter. That's when Regis Philbin was the host. He was the best.
John phoned a friend (his Dad) not because he didn't know the answer he just wanted his Dad to be the first to know that'd he'd be a millionaire. It was great.
PS: I'm talking about the U.S. version.
