I'm dealing with a lot these days, particularly two terminally ill parents but you know what? I'm so grateful for so many other things...namely: the good health of my husband, children and self as well as things like good food to eat, a warm bed to sleep in and friends that genuinely care and support me. These things are my 'stars'. What are yours?

You are such a beautiful and spiritually uplifting person!! All to often we get caught up with life's trials and tribulations and take for granted our blessings. I can honestly say that God of course because when I've fallen to my lowest points, He always gets me out, my children who are my reason for living and holding on when I want to give up, my best friend, who is always there for me and she never passes judgment, for my fiancee who loves me unconditionally and healed all my bruises from the past, I'm grateful for my health and for the health of my family, I'm grateful that I wake up every morning. I am grateful for uplifting people like you who ask questions and help remind people that they have a lot to be thankful and grateful for.

My students... they make me grateful for working everyday... there's always that "I got it!" look, or that spark they get when they're really into learning. And people can say what they will about youth, but this group of teens are some of the kindest people I've ever met.

I am also thankful for my friends... they give me time alone when I need it, and are present for me emotionally as well.

I live on a reserve... it really hurts to see all our social problems walk by or in my front door everyday. My students have a lot of issues to deal with in their lives... drugs, alcohol, neglect, gambling... so that makes these people in my life even more special.

Thank you for asking such a needed question... hang in there...

I think YOU are the star of your life. Because you can see all the good things around you while you are surrendered by illness and worry.
I know it might sound selfish to say that but if you're not happy and healthy, you can't take care of everyone around you. So you should be the star of your life.
I hope you understand where I am going with this.
Cheers,
