Yes, I moved out when I was 17. If you can prove that you are both capable of supporting yourselves without welfare, there is nothing the law will do about it as long as you are not causing trouble because you are so close to legal age. I had my well paying job for 2 years, had a house, a car that I had paid for, and other factors that showed stability, so just be able to back up your case.
Emancipation is expensive, and they take all of these factors into consideration. If you are "caught" and you are eligible for emancipation, they will go ahead and approve it without all of the court costs.

He needs to talk to a lawyer about being legally emancipated or wait until he is 18. Also if you are over the age of 18 and he leaves to be with you, you can be charged with kidnapping or he could be charged as a runaway

He can apply to the court to become an emancipated minor, but most likely in less than a year he will be considered an adult anyway. If he just walks out, and his mother files with the police, they will most likely show up and bring him home.
Sorry to hear you have a child at your age - glad the father is in the picture, though the statistics give you less than 10% likelihood of staying together for the next five years. Maybe you should consider adoption for the good of the child? Try to do what's best for the infant, not yourselves.

I would check in to whether he can be emancipated. Would he be able to get a job in Salt Lake City? Has he finished school? Some states let you become emancipated at 16, if you can be responsible for yourself..

i do no longer think of that that's illegitimate. I recommend you will get in worry inclusive of your mom and dad, yet i do no longer think of that they are able to call a lacking persons or runaway rfile till 24 hours. i'd desire to be incorrect nonetheless. Do you rather need to sleep over at a acquaintances residing house that undesirable? i comprehend it sucks, yet hi you would be 18 quickly and then can do in spite of. only play alongside with their policies for slightly and existence will pass plenty smoother for the subsequent 2 years. only conversing from very own journey.

technically he would be considered a runaway and could be taken into custody until he turns 18. If he can do it without getting caught until he's 18, then there's nothing anyone can do about it. It's just the law, anyone under 18 is still considered a juvenile.

contact a lawyer and check and see what the state age is. If it is 17 then you are adult. Your mother should want you to act like a adult since you have a baby. Good luck
