I hear you, dear. Many, many young people who love performing meet some kind of parental disapproval. It's just your parents being concerned about your interest in what they see as something unproductive that wastes time. It's hard for them to realise that it isn't wasteful at all since it's something you love.

Sadly, whether you're 14 or 40, most disapproving parents never quite warm up to performing as a career. I'm a part-time actor myself and have friends who've been performing professionally for a number of years, and most of us have yet to have our parents approve of it. It's worse that we're stage actors and are perceived to be earning less than TV actors.

I went through the same thing when I was in school. My parents thought it was a frivolous activity that took time away from studying, even though I did well in school. (It was when I took a break from acting during my university days that my grades plummetted!)

My advice is just to keep at it and be prepared to deal with disapproval in a mature way. If your mum questions you about your interest in performing, explain your passion for it in a calm and rational manner - it helps some when your mum sees that you're able to approach it in a mature way. At the very least, she'll start to understand you're no longer a little girl and that you've thought things through as an adult.

Good luck, girl. Hope you make it there.

She is much too "blah" for this film! You're so correct! She will have to were gambling the undead...might be a zombie alternatively of a vampire! I cannot feel that they went along with her within the casting. Of direction, she will almost always beat my @$$, so I'd greater be careful, however nonetheless. I was once very dissatisfied within the option to solid her for Bella.

I think you should folow your dream and be an actress. Prove your mom wrong and show her you can be an actress. Try out for your school play and try to get the lead role. I think you could do it.

Show her how good you are by acting like you don't care what she says.

BTW the proper term is "actor", whether you are male or female. Nobody in the business refers to themselves as an actress.
