Hey good luck - I hope it all goes well for you - keep it reasonably short, sincere, leave the gags to the best man and make sure you include every one in the thank yous - ESPECIALLY YOUR NEW BRIDE - I forgot that and I have never heard the end of it ...

I definitely would not use a joke during the vows, but you can use a joke or two during the toasts at the reception. Make sure, however, that the joke will not be offensive to your new spouse (do not give away any personal or embarassing details). For a speech, I would focus on the best part of your new spouse's personality, and talk about the great times you have had together and how you know that you will keep having as much fun as when you first met. Hope this helps!

Don't have anything as far as a speech or a joke, but I do have this one saying that I heard which I've found to be true. It goes like this:
Men marry a woman with the hopes that she'll never change, whereas a woman marries a man hoping that she can change him.
Good luck and congratulations!

I'd play the humour down and go for sincerity. The best man can make the jokes. There are lots of good books you can buy, loads of websites you can visit and many speechwriters who can do it for you if you don't feel up to it.
Have a lovely wedding and a happy married life.

I don't know if it's an idea for a speech...but the funniest thing I ever saw at a wedding was the groom reaching up to pull off the garter belt...and he pulled out all these assorted funny items, and ended by pulling out a rubber chicken from her dress...oh my gosh...still cracks me up to this day.

Just get a notepad and search google for good jokes , write them down - you can also find wedding speeches online i think which you could maybe edit?

As the groom, you don't really need to worry about jokes or speeches. You just need to thank everybody and say "my wife and I....." to which everyone will clap and cheer. That's about it.
Good luck for your big day x
