if a 15 year old went in to a R movie, would they legally able to kick you out of the theater if you paid for another movie, like a PG movie?

It has nothing to do with law. The fact is, the movie is private property, and so is the movie theater. The ratings were established to help keep parents from sueing the bejeezus out of film studios....same reason movie theaters won't let you in to see the R rated movies.

Now, when it's XXX, then the law gets involved.

The ratings themselves have no legal force. The ratings are there to do the following
1) Assist consumers in the decision as to watch or not watch the movie
2) It assists parents in determining if a movie is appropriate for their children to watch
3) And creates a standard which all movie theaters understand and can follow.
4) As a "good" business practice (and business community relations) movie theaters refuse admittance of minors into age inappropriate movies.

So, yes they can refuse admittance or throw you out if you are under age with no parent/guardian.

But, your point is even worse. You are talking about movie/theater hoping. That's actually illegal. When you buy a ticket to a movie, in most cases all of that money goes to the movie company not the theater. So when you pay for one and watch another, you actually steal from the movie company that made the movie you wanted to watch. And, yes they can throw you out for that as well with no refund.

i bypass to rephrase my answer. i'd say that a 14 12 months historical will would desire to quite no longer be brought to seem this movie. in case you're fairly mature and seem at which you will administration it ultimate, then bypass forward and discover an 18 12 months previous to hold you. regardless of the undeniable fact that permit me permit you be attentive to that it is not any Batman or Spiderman. it somewhat is a depressing comedian without happy ending. i've got learn the comics, and persons are stunning photograph. however the movie took it a step added. A pregnant woman is shot lifeless, a woman is virtually raped, a individual's penis is teach interior the path of the movie, there's a steamy intercourse scene. additionally, whilst persons get injury you spot it. Bones reducing by potential of way of dermis. The insides of persons whilst they get blown up. i does no longer take a 14 12 months historic. it somewhat is not a soft R score.

Ratings are not enforced by law. There is no law stating that a 15 year old cannot see an R movie. The major movie theatres have all agreed, however, to enforce the guidleines made by the MPAA.

No, it is not a law, but it is a poilcy that if you are a certain (when I worked at a cinema the age was 17). Most theaters have to abide by these policies or they can be shut down. And most theaters have a policy where they can refuse services (check the back of your ticket stub sometime). When I worked there, we escorted the patrons back to the movie they paid to see. If they tried it again, then we asked them to leave.

Yes, the theater has the right to refuse service to you, and if you pay for one movie and jump to another, those are grounds for them to kick you out without a refund. As far as getting arrested, I don't believe so.

Correct...it is illeagal for the movie staff to let any one under 18 intoi the movie unsell they have a paerent with them....same with an MA movie anyone under the age of 15 is not alloud to enter unless accompanied by an adult.
If they do they can be charged.

They would throw you out, and not let you come back. If you got caught again, I'm sure the manager would call the police and your parents. Wait a few years...you can watch all the R-rated movies you want...although honestly, I don't watch many movies anymore because the quality is so low, and the themes get recycled over and over again.

They can kick you out, and if you don't leave I suppose you could be charged with trespassing. But prior to being asked to leave, could you be charged with anything for being in the wrong theater? I don't know, probably not.

So what movie are you thinking about sneaking into? :-p
