The 20gb PS3 is going to cost $500, the 60gb PS3 is going to cost $600.

WAY, WAY to pricey for most ordinary folks for any event. I certainly will NOT be one of the folks standing in line. Can't justify the cost at all, because in the end -- all it is is a STUPID GAME!

The PS3 was originally was going to be around $600-$700, depending on the GB and package of the system, but due to the battery recall for the Sony Vaio Laptop and struggling in the electronic industry force Sony to lower the price to at least $499 for the basic system (20 GB), even though the deluxe package (60 GB) will still stick at $599 (including the memory stick slot). The console relies on their powerful Cell-Processor chip and their 1080i capable Hi-Def gaming; it could also be the cheapest Blu-Ray system out there with DVD capabilites (plays both Blu-Ray and DVD). The sad part is, just like the launch of the XBox 360, only 400,000 units will be release this Friday and 21 PS3 game will be launch before 2006 ends, which you know is not enough console for the U.S. market. The PS3 is in more trouble technically; unlike the PS2, the PS3 can't play some of the PS2 games (or screw up the game), let alone the original PS1. There will be software patches to fix that problem but I suggest that by March 2007, there will be enough for everybody and when every kink should be fixed in the PS3. EBay is even restricting the sales of PS3, so it's going to be harder to find.

The Nintendo Wii will cost about $249 when it launch this Sunday and will have 4 million console by year's end, just to let you know that there is going to be enough, along with 62 titles launching by years end (30 of those are classic games like Super Mario or Donkey Kong that can be download as the Virtual Console), although it doesn't show the flashiness of the PS3. Of course their biggest strength over the PS3 are their remote controller that can move in motion thru 1st person point of view. I'm just giving you options on which console your interested in for the holiday shopping.

I am sure it will be awesome. I have always had the latest game systems. Sometimes it best to wait for them to get the glitches out like the XBOX and such, or to wait for the price to drop.......which can be hard to do. I am hearing prices of $600.00 but keep in mind that doesn't include games, or controllers!
