I have a 96 landcruiser and I need to haul a uhaul on it. The hitch is already there, the thing with a little square at the end. I guess I need to get something else too??? Anyone who can tell me what I need to get would be greatly appreciated!!! I think it is a mount and a ball or something like that. Also, where can I get these things and how do I put them on? THANKS

You need a hitch mount and a ball. You can get them at uhaul, walmart, autoparts stores, etc. The mount will slide inside the square tube and be held in place with a large pin. Depending on the height of your truck they have drop mounts to get the tongue height correct. Also there are different ball sizes. I'd suggest just buying them at Uhaul when you get the trailer so that you get the proper thing. You may pay a bit more but it'll be cheaper and a better experience than trying to tow with incorrect equipment.

you need a receiver hitch ball mount and ball. you will need to know the size of the tongue as they are different sizes. the most common are 1 7/8 and 2 inch. you can get them at about any auto parts store or even wal mart. the ball mount and ball should cost you about $30.00 give or take. oh, and one more thing...there are 2 different sizes if the little square thing (the receiver) 1 1/2 and 2 inch. measure the square part (inside) to determine which you have. good luck

well if you need to rent a u-haul, most rental places often sell the balls and mount. sometimes they may be cheaper than going out to an auto store and buying them. most u-hauls will also mount them to your car if needed.

Please take care of this at Uhaul, so you get the proper size, height, etc. Not to be disrespectful, but will you be doing the towing?
