OMG NO !! You DON'T punish your little ferret by spanking them !!! Under no circumstances should you ever do that. They evidently have a problem. First, you should take him or her to your vet to rule out anything medical. Because ferrets only bite for 2 reasons....either it's medical or they're scared of fingers and other ferrets. You may have a ferret that just doesn't like other ferrets and obviously, he doesn't like your hand and/or fingers. It's too long to go into on here, but ask your vet for advice on how to train your ferret not to bite you. I've had a total of 21 ferrets and about 1/2 of them were biters. Train them with raw beet up eggs and cream. If you want to know how, email me at spiderden17547 at earthlink.net

You should never hit a ferret. They in turn will most likely start biting your hands. If you see her do this, say "NO!" sharply and then pick her up, and put her in her cage, essentially for a time out. A ferrets time out of thier cage is golden to them, and when you take it away, they realize what they are losing. It may take a few, if not several times of this for it to work, but eventually she will get the picture. Ferrets are very stubborn and a lot of work, they definatly need a lot of time. So as hard as it is, just be patient.
I have a ferret now, that in trying to get me to play with her, bites my feet or legs. Not hard, but enough to startle me, so that is what im working on breaking. it all takes time.

Don't spank her. If she is a domestic ferret, you can train her. Just tell her a firm 'no' and put her elsewhere in the house. Maybe even a muzzle? You would have to make one as there wouldn't be one small enough on the market, but I reckon it could almost work! She will soon get it that it's not right.

Spank her? It would probably kill her! Some animals just inherently will bite no matter what you try to do to train them not to. I have both a Macaw AND a Ferret, and the only thing you can do with either of them is to keep them away from your other pets....and supervise closely when they are together. You'll never train them not to bite.

are you sure she's not just playing with them?? You should NEVER hit a ferret!!! Maybe blow ing her face and tell her NO! Also it is a good idea to watch your ferret when the other animals are around she may just be defending herself. she may feel threated by them.
Ferrets are NOT WILD animals and can be trained. I suggest you get the book "Ferrets for Dummies" it is VERY informative. And you will likely need it anyways!!

That's what ferrets do. Yours may be a bit more of a wild crazy weasel than the rest! I'd keep the ferret away from your other animals.

There's no real way to punish an ferret. Just keep it away from the other animals.

grab it by the tail swing it around your head twice and slam it into the nearest hard object.just kidding but they can be frustrating.i doubt you will stop it biting the other animals there hard enough to stop from biting their owner.keep them seperated is the only thing i would suggest.dont spank her for what comes natural or you'll just end up with a ferret that hates evreybody and everything
including you.

My boyfriend had three ferrets throughout his life and I asked him how to get it to not bite. He said what worked for him is to spank it everytime it does that. (Obviously lightly so you don't injure it) It is similar to a cat or a dog and will learn, it will just take it longer for it to learn.
