is it true that my playstation 2 won't last as long if i keep it and play it upright (vertical)?

well i had mine vertical for awhile but it started freezing up my games so i just put it back down and have had no trouble with since

I don't know. I don't like it being vertical and have had it for 3 years without any problems. So maybe.

I dont think so I"ve been playing it up right for 3 years and nothing bad has happened.

Mine is fine. But it has to be on level ground and not on an angle.
