While you make a good point about the Muslim leaders not denouncing the beheadings and terrorist attacks, the events that took place at Abu-Grab were an absoulte disgrace and are inexcusable. Defending the people who took place in those incidents is also inexcusible. I do argee with you though that the Muslim leaders are cowards for not standing up to the barbarians in their religion.

America should behave in an exemplary manor. Not in a way that besmirches the reputation of the United States as a world leader in human rights. You are saying we should behave no better than the very people we fight. Why would you want to stoop to that level? Don't you believe in human rights? Even if you don't, there is always the Geneva Convention Acts.

The point is that we act holier than thou, and we don't do these things. And while I sound sarcastic I truly do mean that I believe we should be better than other countries. We are America, and we stand for the right and the good. It keeps proving not to be true, but I keep hoping that my wonderful country still stands for these things and not for barbaric behavior like we indulged in at Abu-Grab. I would also like to say that I feel the soldiers involved were just sacrifical lambs for their superiors and govt officials who condoned, even encourage their behavior.

You can't be serious! People around the world expect the United State to set the highest standards. The citizens of the United States expect that. Not to mention treaties that we have signed banning the use of torture.

They are savages and they will never live by the same rules as America does. You will not see any outrage over the beheading's because they approve of it.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The big deal with Abu-Grahib is that OUR servicemen and women were sexual abusing and mentally demeaning our prisoners. It was a travesty to human rights and a complete act of hypocrisy on the part of this Christian nation. HOW ON EARTH could one even TRY to minimize it? Are you insane or just and atheist?
What we did in Abu Grahib is FAR worse than beheading. Dead people can't regret their past. Ask ANY rape victim and they will tell you that they hate living with their past. How DARE you suggest rape is better than murder. How DARE you!

Ask the hippies and liberals who are complaining. They'll find something wrong with any part of U.S. policy. And, as usual, the sensitive people without common sense are heard

Tofu is right. These unlawful combatant prisoners should have been shot pure and simple- it would have been perfectly legal and in accordance with tradition.
