I have just put sims2 on my computer and i have downloaded all 4 disk but now it says
"faid to intilize direct 3d, please make sure direct x9.oc has been istalled on this system, the application will now terminate"
i went on the net to dowload directx9.0c and i did, it extraced all of in to my document but still says the same thing
please help

since you have the direct x installed I would uninstall the sims reboot then reinstall them in order should work.

You can also look at updating your graphics card - find the manufacturer then find it on the net.
And Updating the Sound Card.
To discover what you have type in: DXDIAG in the run box in Start Menu. This may or may not help but it's a good idea to keep these updated for the best performance when gaming. JB

I would uninstall it all.
Then install direct X
Then reinstall the Sims 2
This should work.

i had the same problem with mine, i had to uninstall all the discs then reinstall them.
also make sure that there arnt any scratches on the discs as this will stop them from loading. good luck!
