I didn't tell anybody this, but I've heard it before. I think it's just something that people want to believe because they don't want to believe that they can get pregnant VERY easily if they are not careful, and sometimes even if they are! Oh, and for those who say it's still the same thing if it dies within a few hours, get a clue.

Your right. Thats why you cant rely on people to give good answers on here. Because most dont know the facts. I answered a question like that once and I was surprised too at how many people were telling this guy that same thing. For those that are still arguing it, it lives from 4 to 6 hours in the air in the right temp and humidity. Then of course they freeze it before that time.

Lets be clear:

- Average number of sperm cells in the ejaculate of a healthy man: 40 million to 600 million (avg. 250 million)

- Distance sperm travels to fertilize an egg: 7.5-10 centimeters or 3-4 inches

- Sperm lifespan prior to ejaculation: 2.5 months from development to ejaculation

NOTE - Sperm lifespan after ejaculation: 30 seconds to 6 days depending on conditions. Can be stored in a cryogenic state for at least 10 years in ideal conditions.

Air does not kills sperm, only time, spermicide, hostile environments can kill sperm.

Play safe kids....

Hello! I know what you mean. These people on here are unbelievably clueless.

Sperm lives for AT LEAST one hour, even in the air, if it is kept reasonably warm. I know this because when a man gives a sample to test his fertility, they give him a one-hour window in which to bring the sample to the office. They simply advise the man to keep the vial in his pocket or something to keep it from getting too cold.

There were also 3 or 4 people on here who think peeing after sex will flush out the sperm. How can girls not even know where the pee and the baby come out of? They are completely different?

I've never heard that and whoever thinks that is retarded. The only thing that I know of is that sperm dies when it hits water!
