I do not believe that poverty is the main cause of terrorism. It is education, or to be more precise, a lack of it. However, poverty and a lack of education sometimes go hand in hand, so yes minimizing poverty may help alleviate terrorism, although this is a very, very simplified version of the truth.

No. The majority of terrorism is not financially motivated. Usama Bin Laden himself was financially set for life long before his involvement with Al Qaida began. Most modern terrorism is motivated by religious fundamentalists, mostly muslim. (BUT NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS.... too many people make that assumption). There are also terrorists who are simply acting against an oppresive government or what have you.

Overall, the main motviation for terrorism could be summed up in idealism.

Where to start!
Okay, eradicating or minimising poveryt would certainly have a positive effect on terrorism, although the two are not inter-related.

The causes of terrorism are numerous but one of the main reasons of terrorism is that when people feel under attack and feel powerless, then they result to terrorism. However, that's a simplistic view,

Not likely. A lot of the terrorism we encounter in the current world is religion driven. Poverty or not, as long as science hasn't answered ALL of the world's questions, there's probably a good chance that there will still be religion.

No although I am glad most terrorists are poor. If they had money and resources, their terrorism would be that much greater and thanks to Iran it is gaining more resources. It is caused by a warped religious and political view, not poverty. The london bombers were affluent. I think they generally cannot compete with us economically or politically because they are poor, but if they were less poor, they will reduce their "terrorism" and change their tactic to outright military conflict.

Terrorist feed on proverty. It also creates proverty which is the main caus eof the problems in the Middle East and South America.
When people are not working and feeding their families it's somuch easier to attract them to terrorist.
It's basically the same way Jesus worked his ideaology, the same way mohammad worked his ideas in to 1600 years of terror and the way hitler formed his German Empire. It's the same way preachers today such as jesse jackson, oral roberts, jim jones, jim and tammy fay baker used the the public to fleece them or used proverty to bring people to their ideology.
They found soneone who was living in proverty and used that proverty to bring to their side.
