i live in the boston area (but he hates baseball so no red sox ideas!!) and we've been together for 2 1/2 years. we're in college..he's the guy with everything so help me with some unique or unexpected ideas!!

Plan a trip somewhere! I've done that a couple times for my wife (family vacation to the Midwest one year and 10th anniversary trip to Key West last year) and she's always enjoyed it cause it's something you can do together and if it's a few months out, it gives you something to look forward to. Maybe include tickets for something that he'd like to do on the trip.

If you are really looking for some unexpected, unique and bizarre christmas gift you should really try the Xmas Leg Story Table Lamp. Its cheap really.Remember `A Christmas Story' the movie?
