Well I think they would of got a better deal elsewhere but Ford is a guy that Colangelo wanted so he got him. Charlie wasnt going to get too much clock this year because of the log jam they had at Forward. The trade works for both teams and although Charlie has a lil injury right now both team will see the results later rather than now.

Colangelo is construction the Raptors interior a similar mould as he outfitted the Suns. He needed a short factor guard it fairly is a competent distributor and he got here across one in TJ Ford. Villanueva did have a competent season, so the funds come out reliable in this deal, also. they have fantastically a lot solidified their frontcourt for next few years. the really unusual project to me is that i imagine Villanueva would have in good structure completely into the variety of play i imagine the Raptors are operating in course of.

Initially, I thought it was a bad deal. But after seeing how new Raptors GM Brian Colangelo's infused a Suns' like fast-breaking style to the Raptors, TJ is a perfect fit.
Hope this helps.

i like that trade. lets assume this trade didnt happen. jose calderon would be their starting PG, (then to name the rest of the starting 5) SG Parker, SF Mo Pete, PF Charlie V, C Bosh. now with Bargnani and Garbajosa (spelling right?), Graham, and Mo Pete also playing SF/PF (charlies position) its quite crammed. TJ plays Mitchell's style, and they are playing well. But the raps needed a "true" PG - pass first, control pace, etc. Calderon can be that guy in a few years, but right now this trade works.

It's allright. They get the uptempo point guard that they need and get rid of someone who would be cutting into Bosh's production. Both teams are doing well with their acquisitions so i don't think any of them are complaining
