My boss is nice but sometimes she treats me like a little kid. When she speaks to me it seems like she's belittling me. I hear her talk about everyone and she alway's critize them like she's perfect and doesn't make any mistakes. I've been on the job for 7 months and I really don't have any experience in this field. So I don't know what to do. Any serious advice??

Talk to the boss, she may not realize that her tone and mannerisms can be construed to be less than acceptable, especially when counseling/ coaching employees.

Some, not most, bosses have a "better than you" attitude, perhaps as a defensive mechanism to shield themselves from ambitious subordinates.

A good boss is a partner with his/her subordinates, recognizing that their (the bosses) success depends on the subordinates, the reverse is just a true.

Find a time when there is little or no stress, in a neutral place (possibly over lunch - that would be a first, an employee asking a supervisor to lunch), couch the request in such a way so as not to cause the boss to look for ulterior motives - "I have a personal problem that I would like to discuss with you. Is lunch convenient?"

I had the same exact problem. I stuck it out for 4 years. But, during that time I sat down with her several times and told her how I felt. It worked for a while. She did not realize that she was doing it. But after a while and many talks later...she started again and it got so bad that I had to look for another job.
I would definitely tell her that she is talking down to you. Maybe she does not realize how she sounds. And if that does not work...go to Human Resource Dept for the company and complain or you can go somewhere else. You should not have to put up with that kind of abuse.

Get your resume out and start looking for another job.

At this point, the die is cast, and you're never gonna see it get better. Either she goes, or you go. If you can transfer to another division where she's not the boss, that works too.

At this point, you know whether you belong in this field. If you're not doing well then you might get ONE (count it, ONE) mulligan as you get hired as a newbie elsewhere. If the next place doesn't work out, then you're in the wrong field. Oh, you might be able to do the work, but our vocations are as much determined by our personalities (where do we fit in?) as our talents.
