And will it matter to you what greeting others use when greeting you?

I know it's lost in the shuffle...But it is a birthday celebration. A day set aside to recognize the birth of Christ. Thus, Merry Christmas. I'm something of a "Bah Humbug," but if we kick Christ out of Christmas....what is it then?

I usually say "Merry Christmas"....and I prefer the same, but any response will do. I once got corrected by someone b/c everyone kept saying "Happy Holidays"...so I thought maybe I was offending people and said the same thing. The man said, "Merry Christmas" in sort of an offensive way! People are so sensitive...geez!

i'm unsure approximately banned, yet i comprehend many roles that contain direct interplay with the time-honored public will discourage a particular holiday greeting. regulations inclusive of this are an on the spot effect of a few human beings starting to be needlessly indignant and inflicting a scene appropriate to the main mundane issues i do no longer in my view accept as true with it in spite of the undeniable fact that it is the character of the international we are residing in.

It's not a big deal. If I say it first, I say Happy Holidays. If someone says Merry Christmas to me, I'll say it back to them.

The intent is of greater importance to me than the words.

Since many of my acquaintances are not Christian we usually just say, "Season's greetings!"
