Which show you like better between the Simpsons or Family Guy? Currently I like Family Guy better than the Simpsons cause their jokes are funnier and more laugh out loud while the jokes on the Simpsons seem to be pretty dull, overall I like the Simpsons (Seasons 1-8) better than the best episodes of Family Guy cause you always find something new everytime you watch the episodes and the humor seems to be more witty and intelligent which is something you don't find in Family Guy, I always like the references the Simpsons uses and it always sticks with the plot unlike Family Guy

I prefer The Simpsons, although I enjoy both shows. The Simpson's writing is a lot smarter and more consistant, whereas Family Guy will suddenly stop and throw in ten seconds of surrealism out of nowhere - with The Simpsons, that same ten seconds would be woven seamlessly into the episode, and make sense within its context. Perhaps not as funny, but much harder to do, and much more satisfying in the long run.

As far as unpredictability goes I prefer Family Guy cause the jokes come out of nowhere and they have nothing to do with the plot and it is funny watching the flashbacks of Family Guy.
I find the Simpsons to be more clever and witty than Family Guy and the humor sticks with the plot, I don't care for the Simpsons during the past 8 years or so but I do love the golden era of the Simpsons (Seasons 1-9).

Family Guy, 'cause it always make me laugh everytime i watch (even if its same episode), whereas the Simpsons.. its only funny to me when I watch it once. The jokes in Family Guy can be witty and other times can be quite stupid. I agree that they often show a few seconds clip of something familiar from another show, whereas it probably takes a lot time for the writers of Simpson to come up with a story and I respect that. I grew up watching Simpsons but it is just gettin' a bit dull to me.

the simpsons
family guy is WAY too random and very rarely has a developed plot. the simpsons has over the top humor as well as subtlety and sattirical allusions to every aspect of society.
example of family guy being random: when stewie has a flashback of being joined at the head to his dog and telling a woman she "has no business in shorts."

I perfer the simpsons because I grew up with it. It is the longest running cartoon ever and still is funny. However, i do find that I have more outbursts at the baby on Family Guy

sadly,
immature teens and annoying children watch Family Guy and quote it everywhere you go...so i pretty much hate that show because of them
Simpsons are better, family guy copied off them and have random jokes that have nothing to do with anything...while the Simpsons keep with their story
