It looks like CEO Scrooge at best buy, they sell stuff, wants all the assistants to say the more politically motivated (correct) Happy Holidays than use the more historically correct Merry Christmas. What do you think?

What are company's so scared of saying, Merry Christmas. Afraid that one dope won;t buy an ipod in their store, whoop-ee.. Should be able to say Merry Christmas, or go away, thank you for shopping.. Called freedom of speech. However, if they hold your check, you either agree or move on.

I'm a Christian and I say Happy Holidays. It's just being polite since not everyone celebrates that holiday. Would I like it if every store and person I ran into said Happy Kawanza? I think it's just more considerate. In fact, I think it's pretty ego centric to say Merry Christmas unless you know the person and their religion. But then, I don't get your wording...the opportunity to say Merry Christmas? How is it Scroogish to want to include all Americans in a greeting?

Hey there! I think that this Happy Holiday stuff is just crap! Has everyone really forgotten the true reason behind Christmas? It's not just buying gifts to get gifts! I think you should still say Merry Christmas whether they like it or not- Walmart and Target stores are going back to the Merry Christmas thing after people boy-cotted last year!! Go fo rit!!!

Think that there is too much emphasis on political correctness. I am a Christian and I want them to say Merry Christmas to me if I am buying there during the Christmas season. If I were a Jewish person I would want them to say Happy Hanukkah to me if I were buying there. I think the whole thing is stupid. I have as many rights as the non Christians do. So, there!!!

I think its retarded.....How is this politically correct? This is our Tradition and the some of the foundation for which this country is built on. Why don't we stop saying BC for dating periods as well. Hell, They took the word "God" out of the Pledge og Allegiance and then banned it altogether at schools. Let the mexicans pray though, and let the hindu's do whatever they want, but God Forbid we maintain any of our culture or tradition! Well, atleast Wallmart is going to be saying Merry Christmas. I am going to Best Buy, and if the guy tells me Happy Holiday's, I am going to yell Merry Christmas at him, until he gets it. Yea, it will certainly do no good but I like Christmas and doesn't mean the same if we don't call it Christmas.

MEERRRRYYYY CCCHHHRRRRRIIISSSSTTTTTMMMMAAASSS!!

Merry Christmas is what I grew up on.
Why shouldn't we say Merry Christmas?
I think it's those immagrants who come here and don't celebrate Christmas. And there are people in the country who celebrate Hannacah or Kwanzaa. I think Christmas being the leading holiday of December, should be addressed the best.
Santa Claus even says Merry Christmas.

I work for a large corporate retail store and I am a non-Christian. I say "Happy Holidays" only if someone says something to me usually I stick to my typical customer interaction. However, I do this because of personal beliefs, neither my company nor my managers ask me to say or not say anything in particular. Each person I work with addresses this differently according to personality and personal belief.

I believe this is the best way to handle the issue. The company should not limit freedom of expression by requiring their employees to say a particular phrase, or nothing at all. Most people who interact with customers on a daily basis are good at reading a customers emotions and are able to use good judgment in handling this particular issue.

Freedom of speech is what makes this country a great place to live and we should not restrict anyones right to express holiday sentinments in his/her own way.

i think Happy Holidays would be easier, because it wouldnt cause any conflict. yes, i know i lot of people grew up saying merry christmas, but one day a person who celebrates Hanakkah or Kwanzaa is going to go there and be offended by "merry christmas" so i think it would just be less of a hassle to say happy holidays.

I think that all Christians should boycott Best Buy. In fact, I think that all Christians should boycott all Christmas retailers and give their time and money to serving the poor, the sick and the infirm, the lonely and brokenhearted, the abused and used. This is what the season is all about. This Thanksgiving I will be serving my fellow man.
