Here's what I said for someone else:
I think it would be interesting to study the effectiveness of commericials on TV. You could show different people the commercials and then play back a portion of it an hour later and see if they remembered what the commercial was advertising. Ask them at periodic times further and further after the initial playing. Try to get commericals that they won't see while viewing TV during the testing time, as to prevent them of being reminded of the commerical.

Uh. . what grade level?
typically something like making play doh or plaster of Paris is a good demonstration of chemistry and its fairly cheap
