A true prince is the one who has a good job and has gotten over the mistakes of youth (drinking, partying, drugs). If you really want to know what kind of husband your man will be, take a good look at his father (or stepfather). The men who raised him will have the most impact on his life.

The best princes turn up when the princess is not looking, but having feisty adventures of her own accord. That way, he doesn't have to rescue her, but they can ride off into the sunset, slaying trolls all the way - much more satisfactory in my mind.
