Marcus, who I didn't want to buy gifts? I never said that! I hate it when holloween is not here yet and the Christmas decorations are already out. I hate it when Christmas is on day over with, and they put out the Valentines stuff. What about really poor people who can not afford nice things for their children. It's not even fun to me anymore. I have 17 grandkids 3 kids and how can i buy all of them gifts? And still pay my bills?

Me too. My family has decided not to "do" Christmas this year. By that I
mean buy lots of useless presents for each other. We are going to
celebrate by spending lots of time together and eating great meals. Not
all of them prepared by me!!! I'm looking forward to it.

Oh I'm sick of it too. The corporations have hijacked holidays as a profit-making machine. It's worse when we start seeing Xmas commercials beginning of November. It gets nauseating when you've been seeing these commercials for two months straight! I mean who wants to think about Xmas for two whole months!?? It is like they are screaming so loud "BUY ME BUY ME BUY ME!!"

Thankfully my family celebrates Xmas in true spirit having a great time being together, cooking great meals, only buying small gifts. We never go overboard on gifts and no one is ever obligated to buy anything. We're just as happy to be together as a family.

I'm glad I don't have a TV right now, so I dont' have to worry about those commercials!

Nope. I will join you in this crowd. What ever happened to Thanksgiving? Every store has their christmas items out already. It's not a wonder I'm burned out on Christmas by the time it gets here.

Do something special to make Christmas special each year. I do.

Ms Garcia, no, you not the only one. I guess this is why I choose to celebrate Easter rather then Christmas. Easter doesn't have as much commercialization as Christmas.

I give you a thumbs up.

I used to be, before I got educated. Now I see opportunities for me to help others in need with no one knowing about it. Think about it, A Holy day is a time for us to honor what we see as holy, not what others see, just what we see. Being helped is a blessing, an honor, and fun too. Oh, and your rejection of help only hurts you, so why hold on to the negative?
