What does it mean to live in your own reality? People sometimes say dont compare your self to others but live in your own reality.What does that mean?

it means live in a world perceived only by your thoughts and observations. what you believe, will guide how you think and behave.

It means what ever you think is good for you. I disagree with this idea. It is based on mental speculation and our minds are full of garbage. According to the Vedic Literature one should live in ultimate reality. This world is illusion (temporary and full of misery) if we want to be free from misery, we have to take up the process of the previous acaryas or Pure saints and teachers. If we always try to compare the Absolute truth to our sense perception we will always be cheated. One must go to one who has seen the Absolute Truth. My recommendation is to go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com and look at the knowledge on that site. It has Universal Truths that will change ones life for the highest good

To ignore the rules and standards of everyday society; to make your own truths, regardless of how they affect others, or if they're even true to begin with.
To be incompatible with the world around you.

It means live with who you are.....and what is going on in your life not with who someone else is and what is going on with theirs
