I had a question with one of the papers a friend is writing. Can any one name any medicines that have been approved by the FDA that really shouldn't have been. He's listed the birth control patch, and we are looking for more. Any ideas? Also any good info on the FDA? Thanks a bunch!

VIOXX ... lawsuits are pending.

Aspartame --- they still claim its safe in spite of tons of information that would say otherwise. My arthritis improved when I stopped using it and drinking diet drinks with it.

Birth control pills in general.... check the side-effects.

Whether or not these drugs should have been approved is an opinion. I think not.

I have information from a while back on the FDA. I used to work as the Regulatory Affairs and Research department for a small lab. The FDA approved Nutrasweet, even though the clinical testing showed that up to 1/2 of people who consumed it had some sort of adverse reaction to it, digestive problems, allergic reactions, migraine headaches, etc. This was back in the 80's, and the inventor was reportedly a friend of Ronald Reagan, which is why Nutrasweet got approved as a food additive.

That stuff about Nutrasweet is false.

Here's some reading to disprove the bullsh!t...

As far as "medicines that shouldn't have been approved" -- hindsight is 20/20. Not all the data we have now was available then. End of story.
