there is no faulty gene, personally i do not believe in an addictive personality, this is just a cop out from people looking for an excuse to excuse their behaviour, i smoke drink and personally do not have an off switch when it comes to getting wasted, but this is not down to faulty genes, this is down to lack of self control and an inability to say no to yet another double vodka/bottle of wine/ciggy.etc.
people who have parents who are addicted to drugs/alcohol are likely to become addicted themselves because it is leaned behaviour, when you are brought up in an environment, it is normal for you to copy that environment, it is all we know, think how a mother teaches her young to hunt and kill in the wild, it is leaned behaviour, our parents are our role models, therefore like it or not, it is who we become, our rebellious stage in our teenage years is the exact opposite of what our parents want/expect us to be, they are not role models any more, we are not like them and therefore rebellious. it is the nature nurture debate, however as a drug/alcohol counsellor who has studied psychology/sociology clients who have had parents who were/are addicts are far more likely to become addicts their-selves, due to leaned behaviour and poor parenting and lack of good solid role models, it is not due to genetics, again that is an excuse.
hope this helps answer your question

There is no scientific proof that a faulty gene exists. We all have opiate receptors in our bodies. Drug abuse alters how our opiate system functions. The best thing you can do is do all the right things so that you don't expose your kids to the lifestyle of environment where these powerful drugs might be accessible. An alcoholic can "inherit the gene", but if they never ingest alcohol, they will never have an alcohol problem. Addiction is believed to be influenced by genetics, but not determined by them.

Our grasp plan? Our apologies for desirous to proceed the human race and it only so happens that the two men and ladies human beings carry defective genes from THEIR mom and dad. that's neither companions fault as they get handed down and there is no longer plenty you're able to do approximately that. I even have brown hair because of the fact my dad has brown hair. My mom has black hair for this reason I have been given his gene. some illnesses are handed down from the male and a few from the female, it has to do with kin historic past. this is one genetic ailment in spite of the undeniable fact that there are some that are handed from father to daughter. Fabry ailment is handed from the father to the daughter, the gene would be handed a hundred% to the daughter and 0% to the son. you do no longer hear me complaining approximately this. Why? because of the fact it relatively is no longer the fault of the guy. that's nature and issues like this take place. which you may think of that somebody ability to injury their toddler this way is carefully ridiculous.

they can certainly pass on the addiction if the mother takes heroin whilst pregnant(as the same blood goes through the baby)- as to the genetics, i'm not sure.I believe a gene has been recognised that is connected with people having an addictive nature.......

this is a question that people have argued ova, nature or nurture.personally, i think that people who have families who have got addiction problems(be it drugs, booze or gambling), carry a gene which makes relatives a high risk patient of addiction.it might not be heroin but it can be alcohol.ultimately it is your choice whether to go down that road, and the influences in your life.this view is called the diathesis-stress model, google it!! "nature loads the gun, but nurture pulls the trigger"

the faulty gene is only a addictive personality , which without drugs would be a splendid feature in life ,guide people away from evil ,and direct people in the right way, and stop taking it and stop talking to the the people who take it, and don't feel guilty if you have to blank your old weak vampire false friends with the hustle ,

so they say. but remember this you are in control of your life only you. you are responsible for the s.hit you take on board. and junkies are that way because they want to be. also peer pressure is a very very strong influence. surround your self with nice people and all will be OK surround your self with junkies you increase your chances of going down that road. in short learn to know your self and what out side influences have on your life. be safe be good and enjoy life.
