Love is a choice & a committment that usually starts with an emotional feeling of attachment. Once that newness wears off, it's may often take a lot of work to maintain, but those moments of emotional & passionate rush will happen too.

Love is the ability to function independently & it is also the sharing of burdens & responsibilities, with the innate determination that you don't desire to do without the other person but you still could if you had to.

It depends on to whom this question is asked. If you ask a scientific, he`d tell you: love is a chemical reactions in the brain that leads to release of certain chemicals in your body.
A romantic person may say love is the most beautiful feeling in life, and the feeling that gives meaning to our life.
For me, love is the need to give another person your affection and the feeling you want to make him happy. And at the same time, the feeling you need this person to make your life complete. Love for me is a shelter against the bad things in life, and they are numerous! Without love, I`d feel like I am standing alone in a storm with no place to turn to.

I define love like what Adam Sandler says on the movie Little Nicky. Believe in the Butterflys. I have been dating my boyfriend for 7 and I still get butterfly's.

I agree with you but I also feel that if it's deep, intense love that it almost causes you to be inable to put it into words. That a simple "I love you" just doesn't seem enough. It's something in your soul, you very being.

What you described is "dependence," NOT love... In fact, it is very unhealthy to be dependent. Being in love means that you CAN function without your significant other... you just don't WANT to!

I can't define it. It just IS. I know that it's there. I don't have to explain it or anything. It's hard to put into words.
