I know a couple of people that become aggressive. My Brother, and my Boyfriend. They are one extreme to the next. My Brother likes to get real violent with women, and my boyfriend likes to protect the women and beat up all the guys. It's hard to handle anyone like this, trust me I fully understand. You can get involved in a group called Al-Anon. Basically its a support group of people who are dealing with the same experiences you are and they offer help and advice to handle your specific situation because they have been their and done that. You have to realize though that even when you try to get someone to stop drinking that when they do decide to really do it, it can not be for you it has to solely be for themself and there own well being. Maybe pull yourself away from them and let them realize that before too long they will lose everything. Trust me I know this from personal experience. That is probably your best bet. I am sorry if it is you who is dealing with this situation, it is so hard to watch the ones you love fall apart and their is nothing you can do. I hope this answer was of some help.

Yes, I knew a woman who went from zero to ***** in one drink - and then to screaming banshee on the next drink.

The only 'control' you have is to not be around them when they drink. While it is nice to try modify their behaviour, especially if you care about them, the fact is that it is their issue and they will never hear what they don't want to listen to...

I remove myself from the situation...but I'm an adult. If you're a minor, you may want to call your parents or if you're talking about one of your parents or someone who lives with you and you're parents aren't providing a safe place for you, call the police if you thing you will be harmed or abused. Verbal abuse is also abuse!

You can not "control" an aggressive drunk.
Your best bet is to refuse to be around them when they are drinking because you do not like there behavior.
people who are like that are a ticking time bomb, one minute they are happy the next they are angry.
Dont even try to control them, remove yourself from them.
