I dunno, what country do you live in now.

If UK, yes the government can give grants, but a better option may be the Princes Trust.

I have experience in starting two limited companies and if I've understood your question correctly. (ANS) Then I think the answer is you WONT get a government loan which offers you preferential conditions or interest rates. Any government loans you might possibly get are only going to be for UK based start up companies (unless the government has changed the rules on this recently).

**My advise is definately you would be best going along to your nearest "business link" which are usually associated with the local chamber of commerce. Your local business link should be listed in the local phone book. Or you should even be able to Yahoo or Google that number?

**Of course ALL of the big four banks will probably fall over themselves to offer you a start up loan (if a UK based company) but note you MUST have a business plan to present to them & it should include figures for projected turn over, any start up costs you have analysed, etc. (if you dont have a business plan forget it the banks wont take you seriously).

**UK business banking is usually free for the first 1 -2 years but the sting in tail is once the honey moon period is over banking costs get prohibitive with each transaction costing each time you pay in or out. I dont know how the banks get away with this its really quite scandelous.

**If you have a business you want to start up outside of the UK then its a different story and I would then advise that you talk to the local branch of one of the big banks in the specific country. Of course they will have very different terms & conditions from the UK banks.

Hope thats helps? Best of Luck.
