why did Dally choose to die?

Do you think Dally's death is sadder than Johnny's Why or Why not?

Dally chose to die because he was trying to commit suicide, but he didn't have the courage to do it on his own. See, he realized his situation was futile -- no matter what he did, whether he was good or bad, he would always be a Greaser. He knew Johnny had been a "good" person and shouldn't have been the person who died, and here Dally was a "bad" person, but he was still alive.

Dally chose to die because he felt like he lost all that he'd had to live for. Dally's sole existence in life was looking out for Johnny and when Johnny passed Dally chose to die because he didn't have any purpose left. hope it helps!

Both deaths were sad, but Johnny's was sadder coz he sacrificed his life for those little kids!
when I saw the movie, Dally's death was equally sad for me coz I kinda thought he was hot^^

Johnny died saving children.
Dally was picking a fight, and "got what he deserved".
It's a no brainer for me.

Not to mention that we barely go to know Dally and Johnny is Pony Boy's closest friend.

he had a gun and was going to shot the cops and the cops shot him before he did. he was sad because johnny died and i hurt him so much because he was like his little brother and hes the one who took care of him not like his parents so johnny was like his son in a way.
